Province Polemarch's Desk

As the 22nd Middle Eastern Province Polemarch, I am especially honored and geared up for leading one of Kappa Alpha Psi's most extraordinary Provinces into the next 100 years of achievement. Under the leadership of our 32nd Grand Polemarch, William "Randy" Bates, Esq., our Province is poised and eager to carry out the national theme of "100 Years and Building: The Journey Continues." Beyond the rich history, the innovative contributions and the individual achievements of various brothers, the true engine that drives the Middle Eastern Province is brotherhood.

"..the Middle Eastern Province is in the business of brotherhood, and brotherhood only..."

Going all the way back to the 1920s, the Middle Eastern Province has always been on the cutting edge of Kappa leadership and innovations. We are the home of the 7th Grand Polemarch, A. Moore Shearin. The Province is proud to have Laurel Wreath Laureates, C.C. Spaulding, James "Babe" Henderson, Howard C. Barnhill and the Honorable Judge Henry Frye. One of the Fraternity's most decorated members was the first Executive Director, Past Grand Polemarch and Laurel Wreath Laureate, Attorney Hillary H. Holloway. Brother Holloway was made and reared in the best traditions of our Province's collegiate chapters. This Province is also home to two living Elder Watson Diggs Awardees, William "Bill" Hooker and Past Grand Keeper of Records and Exchequer, Alfred "Al" White. Among the collegiate ranks, this Province has produced several Guy Levis Grant Awardees, including Brother Christopher Wilks and Brother Darius Law. Moreover, our Province has hosted three Grand Chapter Conclaves and one National Founders Day. National Programs such as the Beautillion Militaire and Kappa Quiz Bowl were birthed in the Middle Eastern Province.

The 2011-2012 fraternity year will unfold in the Middle Eastern Province under Grand Polemarch Bates' theme by specifically focusing on strengthening our collegiate chapters. We will also ensure that brotherhood is at the core of all activities, programs and initiatives. Simply put, the Middle Eastern Province is in the business of brotherhood, and brotherhood only.

On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors of the Middle Eastern Province, I want to thank you in advance for visiting our award winning website.

With the kindest regards, I remain.

Yours in the Bond,

Carlos D. Watson, Esq.
