Cary(NC) Alumni Chapter update

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

The Brothers of the Cary (NC) Alumni Chapter have been engaged in a number of activities through the months of October and November. Supported by our Kappa Leaguers, our exemplary care of our first stretch of Adopt A Highway roadway drew the attention of the NC Department of Transportation who recently awarded the chapter a second stretch of Roadway. Again supported by our Kappa Leaguers, we supported the distribution of Thanksgiving turkeys and other food items at White Oaks Baptist Church. Under our 'Cary Care's Program' umbrella, we had a successful collection initiative of hats, socks and blankets for distribution at a soup kitchen along with our participation in the Walk Like MADD Triangle march and our Prostate Cancer awareness informational session. We also had a large contingent of brothers at our St Jude initiative, this year supported by Turners Chapel AME Church in High Point NC which is pastored by a chapter brother. There were a myriad of other chapter activities.

This month, Cary Alumni Chapter will conduct its signature Shop With A Kappa Christmas event looking to take about 60 young people shopping this year and Kappa Alpha Psi will be well represented as we march in the town of Cary Christmas parade. Cary Alumni Chapter is the MEP host chapter for the Kappa League Summit in January and the Brothers are working to provide a memorable event for the young men in attendance this year, Also, early in the new year we will hold our Crimson and Cream event and look to adopt our first Cary elementary school.
